I bring a sense of warmth and curiosity to the therapy room and value building deep relationships with my clients. I enjoy guiding the rich process of uncovering each individual’s personal story and how their unique experiences inform current difficulties, holding space for reflection, growth and healing.

My areas of interest and expertise centre around neurodiversity, complex trauma, and anxiety and mood disorders, including obsessive compulsive tendencies and perfectionism. I utilise holistic and contemporary evidence-based approaches to guide treatment (see below).

I am skilled in the diagnostic assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions, including Autism and ADHD, particularly in women, as well as individuals who are high-achieving and have strong masking behaviours.

Across my career so far I have worked in a range of settings including disability community outreach, hospital settings and private practice, supporting individuals across the lifespan. This has provided me with diverse knowledge and varied perspectives when supporting individuals. I have also held various neuropsychological roles, providing specialist assessment of cognition in the context of acquired brain injuries, neurological and neurodegenerative conditions.

Treatment Approaches

Therapy is always a collaborative and person-centred process. Typically, sessions one and two are focused on collecting information to help us both understand and conceptualise your current difficulties and goals for therapy. We then discuss a treatment plan and associated therapeutic approaches which are best suited to you and your needs.

For many individuals, the experience of growth and healing across their therapeutic journey is not accomplished through one particular therapeutic approach, but rather the flexible integration of multiple evidence-based techniques.

I primarily draw from:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy (EMDR) - the use of bilateral stimulation to process traumatic and distressing memories.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - exploring the interconnection between thoughts, beliefs, feelings and behaviours and how this may contribute to or maintain distress.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy - expanding the capacity to cope with strong emotions and bodily sensations and develop cognitive flexibility.

  • Schema Therapy - understanding and overcoming aversive childhood experiences, unmet emotional needs, and current maladaptive coping behaviours.

  • Mind-Body work including: breathwork, mindfulness, somatic exercises to build emotion regulation, visualisation and polyvagal theory techniques.

  • Neurocognitive approaches: cognitive rehabilitation techniques, attention training, environmental modifications, integration of cognitive compensatory strategies to support therapy (all of which are primarily employed in ADHD management).

When working with neurodiverse individuals, I acknowledge the importance of taking a neuroaffirmative approach and knowing you are the expert in yourself. For me, this means providing a conceptualisation of your difficulties that is inclusive of your neurodiversity and preferences, as well as modifying my use of language, therapeutic techniques and the overall environment to meet your unique needs. This is explored together in our initial session.
